About the Peer Gynt Sculpture Park
The writer Henrik Ibsen is world-famous and his plays are performed at theaters all over the world. Still, there are few monumental displays of his works. In November 2004, Selvaag announced an international sculpture contest with Henrik Ibsen's play Peer Gynt as the main theme. The purpose of the contest was to honor Ibsen, by decorating the neighborhood Løren in Oslo with scenes from Peer Gynt. The three first sculptures were commissioned work and put out for display in the Ibsen year 2006. Since that year, another 17 sculptures from national and international artists have been put on display.

Selvaag is Norway's most experienced homebuilder, and have built almost 50 000 homes. The company has since the 1950s installed over 500 sculptures in the public room to please and inspire the public.
